Looking to jumpstart your spring scrapbooking and paper-crafting projects? Join us for three new workshops at The Paper Boutique this week.
“Simplified” — Hybrid scrapbooking

Expedite the scrapbooking process and walk away with a year’s worth of pages with our new hybrid scrapbooking class, “Simplified.”
Based loosely on the popular “Project Life” scrapbooking concept, we’ll help you put together month-by-month scrapbook pages of your favorite moments — the result being a completed scrapbook by the end of the year that you can keep or give as a gift. Each month you’ll make two full 12-by-12 pages and one hybrid cut-apart page using divided page protectors. All pages will coordinate using Adornit‘s line of calendar materials and We R Memory Keepers albums and page protectors.
During the first two workshops — March 7 and April 4 — guests will make sets of pages for two months. The March workshop will feature pages for January and February, and the April workshop will feature pages for March and April. Cost for the March and April workshops is $30 each, but after that the price will be $15 each month, when guests will make pages for only a month at a time. Page protectors and most supplies (bring your paper trimmer, scissors and favorite adhesive) are included in the price.
Bonus: Everyone who registers for at least three workshops in advance will be able to purchase a We R Memory Keepers 12-by-12 three-ring album, in their choice of color, for $15 — regularly $29.99.
Simplified workshops will take place at 6 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. The March workshop is this Thursday, March 7. Register by calling The Paper Boutique at (217) 528-1863 or emailing staff@paper-boutique.com.
Sizzix Pop ‘n Cuts workshop

On Saturday, March 9, Christy Anderson from Sizzix will lead a workshop at The Paper Boutique using Sizzix’s pop-up die cutting system, Pop ‘N Cuts.
The system, which is magnetic and interchangeable, enables users to turn out three-dimensional pop-up cards in a fraction of the time they usually take. They’re quick, easy, expandable, coordinated and all fold exactly the same.
Guests will make four different, all-new pop-up cards, and they’ll learn lots of tips and great techniques.
The workshop begins at 3 p.m. and costs $26. Bring scissors, paper trimmer, tape runner, mini glue dots, liquid glue and a paper piercer. If you like inked edges, bring your own inks and blending tools.
Advance registration required. Call the store at (217) 528-1863 or email staff@paper-boutique.com to reserve your spot.
Polymer beads — Bargello style

Diane Evans will teach the next installment of her polymer bead classes for adults. This time she’ll teach the “bargello” technique.
Cost is $26. No previous beading experience required.
